About Us
Making an Generational Impact
Iten Vocational training center was established in the year 1970-1971 by the County Council of Elgeiyo Marakwet currently the Elgeiyo Marakwet County.
It was constructed by the help of Chinese prisoners who were in the County for building works as a correctional activities.
The center was established to equip the community of the County Council to be trained in Tailoring, Masonry and carpentry.
The institution opened its doors on January 1972 for the first intake and around 15 trainees enrolled in various courses that was available.
The trainees came from the community as volunteers this were retired or those who has skills from their own initiative as Jua Kali fundis
In the year 1978 a new course was established the metal work and the following year it began enrolment on motor vehicle mechanics.
With campuses in Nairobi and Eldoret, we offer Certificate, Diploma, and Short Courses in areas such as community health, medical lab sciences, nutrition, and business management. Our programs are designed to be practical, accessible, and aligned with TVETA and CDACC standards.
